HCL Digital Experience Upgrade and Migration for CNA Surety

Business Challenge

CNA Surety required a specialized, deeply technical consulting firm focusing on HCL Connections, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, and HCL Digital Experience to assist them with this upgrade and migration from version 7.0 to 9.5 of the HCL Digital Experience platform. The goal was to maintain CNA Surety’s high standards of expert underwriting, solid financial strength, market leadership, and creative solutions to all bonding requirements while upgrading their digital experience platform to improve their online presence and customer experience.

Our Approach

Asponte worked in tandem with CNA’s team to upgrade CNA Surety’s DX environment from v7.0 to v9.5 of the HCL Digital Experience platform, and migrate their DX content to the newer version. Our team created a step-by-step game plan utilizing industry best practices, and agile and scrum methodologies, leveraging Atlassian and Google products. During the project Asponte migrated all pages, portlets, themes, and content from v7.0 environment to v9.5 environment, in addition to the installation and configuration of the upgraded Digital Experience environments, deployment of the migrated CNA site, and performance testing to ensure no product defects or platform issues would impact a production deployment.

Asponte’s work with CNA to upgrade their DX environment from v7.0 to v9.5 of the HCL Digital Experience platform and migrate their content to the newer version was a success. Asponte’s team of technical experts worked closely with CNA’s architects to ensure all aspects of the Portal System were documented, built and delivered exactly to specification. Asponte’s use of industry best practices following agile and scrum methodologies, as well as employing standard risk management procedures and formal change control procedures, minimized impacts to the agreed upon scope, time, and costs.

Asponte was able to deliver usable environments and software as quickly as possible, while also providing complete documentation throughout the project life cycle and ensuring vendor best practices were followed. The upgraded DX environment and migrated content will provide CNA with a more efficient and effective platform to meet their bonding needs.
